La seconde consiste à essayer de faire comprendre la situation non pas à la totalité des étudiants ni même à la totalité des manifestants, mais à un grand nombre d’entre eux. Il y eut un temps où la lubie de l’automobile avait pris une telle virulence que certains cerveaux méditaient de recouvrir la Seine de béton. Ainsi eût-on circulé commodément en travers de la ville, pour aller comme les autres de nulle part à l’on ne sait où. On s’est contenté de ne distraire qu’une partie des berges, où les amoureux et poètes ne flânaient déjà plus que dans les chansons.
